It took a while but Spring has finally reached NYC. You know it when the street trees begin to blossom. These are hearty trees that manage to survive pollution
and traffic
and animals
and weather. The trees right outside my window were totally bare until one week ago and look at them now.
As my husband and I were returning from the Upper West Side last night we drove past the 2nd Ave. subway construction which currently is in full swing between 96th and 92nd Streets. To make way for the huge cranes and bulldozers that take up several traffic lanes, they have cut into the sidewalks, reducing their size by half and
removing all the street trees!
