Don't You Love It When.......
...you have a business meeting and it ends up being at an office/conference room with a fabulous city view? This is the view from 120 Wall Street in Manhattan...of course you have to be on the east side of the building and on a high floor to have access to it!

Perspective
There is a reason river cruises, ferry rides and scenic boat tours are so popular with tourists in NYC. Looking at the skyline from the water puts things in a unique perspective and provides the viewer scale.
Views from the waterways surrounding NYC juxtapose a vast horizontal mass against multiple vertical lines, put the "quiet"of the water up against the "noise" of the city and contrast the slowness of being off-island to the bustle and pace of being on-island.
These photos of lower Manhattan were taken from the Governor's Island ferry.
